ACL is committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability. We are actively working to increase the accessibility and usability of our website and in doing so adheres to many of the available standards and guidelines.
We are continually making improvements to meet these guidelines, and our website has been designed with the following accessibility guidelines in mind:
This website endeavours to conform to level Triple-A of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities. Conformance with these guidelines will help make the web more user friendly for all people.
This site has been built using code compliant with W3C standards for XHTML and CSS. The site displays correctly in current browsers and using standards compliant XHTML/CSS code means any future browsers will also display it correctly.
- Structure
- Pages are designed so that they can be viewed at a screen resolution of 1024x768.
- Page structure is conveyed using header elements.
- Sitemap outlining structure of site has been made.
- Information
- A stylesheet is used on our website and relative font sizes on all text with the exception of graphical text.
- Text can be increased or decreased in size by using the "view" option in your browser.
- Images that convey important information have alternative text. Where an image is used for a decorative purpose the alternative text will be left blank.
- No information is exclusively conveyed using colour.
- Where individual features make use of functions that do not comply with the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines we have made sure that there are alternative routes provided to the information

- All pages of the site adhere to W3C XHTML 1.0 Transitional compliance
- All CSS Stylesheets used in the site adhere to W3C CSS 2.0 Specification
